Here's a look at a recent gutter screen installation we completed in Verona, Wisconsin. The first step involved thoroughly cleaning the gutters, removing all debris, including shingle grit and decomposed leaves. It's surprising how much sludge can accumulate!

This particular house had recently undergone a roof replacement, so we also removed leftover nails and roofing debris. We ensured all downspouts were clear and free-flowing.
Next, we installed Ultra flow gutter screens. These come in 4-foot sections with overlapping joints for a continuous barrier. Each section is secured under the shingles and fastened to the front edge of the gutter with three screws. This creates a rigid, secure fit that can withstand high winds and ice buildup. We guarantee this installation for 20 years, and call backs are rare because gutterscreen is almost nonexistent.
Here's a close-up view from the roof, showing the screen installed on the gutter. The screens are virtually invisible from the ground. The screen openings are approximately 1/8 inch, effectively blocking most debris. While not ideal for very small debris like pine needles, they are highly effective at preventing larger obstructions.
You can see here how we provide custom end caps. We wrap the screen down into the gutter, preventing debris from entering from the sides and keeping birds and squirrels out. The screen is wrapped inside the gutter for a clean, finished appearance.
